REGENERATING AL-REMAYA SQUARE, URBAN MOBILITY & TRANSPORT MASTER PLAN
Project Description
Al-Remaya square is located in the governorate of Giza in the Arab Republic of Egypt and is one of the most important fields of Greater Cairo, the square is the south-western entrance of Giza and Greater Cairo. It also reaches many main roads such as Al-Ahram Street, Faisal Street and Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road from Giza Governorate. It is also the beginning of Cairo Fayoum Desert Road. It is the entrance of the largest archaeological and tourist area in Egypt. The project aims to:
- Enhance mobility and connectivity between the proposed functions.
- Transforming Al-remaya Square into a touristic hub reflecting the modernized image of the middle east.
- Protecting the historical scene, capitalizing on the local realities and characteristics. Introducing a non-motorized transport modes.
- Regenerating the urban context with sustainable and smart approaches
